Famous astrologer Bejan Daruwalla succumbed to lung infection on Friday in a hospital at Ahmedabad. He was 89. Last week, the famous astrologer was admitted in a private hospital and was on ventilator after he complained of breathing difficulty.
After the news of his passing emerged, several media reports suggested that he had died due to Corona virus. His astrologer-son, Nastur, however denied those reports. Earlier it was reported that Daruwalla had tested positive for the novel corona virus on Saturday. His son, however, quashed the rumours, and had confirmed to the media that his father had been suffering from pneumonia and lung infection.

A practicing Zoroastrian, Daruwalla was also a Ganesha devotee and his astrology columns in various leading newspapers went under the title ‘Ganesha Speaks’. His predictions were well known and followed by people across religion.
He had predicted several Prime Ministerial victories including that of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Morarji Desai and recently, Narendra Modi. He had also predicted the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi’s accident and the Bhopal gas tragedy, amongst others.
