“The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) in a communication sent today to Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged for a further extension of lockdown till 30th April 2020 in view of the current troubled time of Coronavirus. The CAIT said that “”Prompted by the motto “” Nation before Self””, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has undertaken a survey with prominent trade leaders of all States of the country and have come to the conclusion that during these troubled times, it would be in the fitness of things, if the current lockdown period is extended up to 30th April 2020 so as to negate any prospects of further spreading of COVID-19. The CAIT assured that traders will leave no stone unturned to combat this deadly disease and stand shoulder to shoulder with the Government as true Corona Warriors of India.”
“CAIT National President B. C. Bhartia & Secretary General Mr. Praveen Khandelwal in CAIT’s communication to Prime Minister said that the deadly COVID-19 has posed a major challenge to all humanity and displayed devastating implications in most prosperous of nations across the World. However, in India, both Union and State Governments have worked tirelessly to ensure things haven’t gone out of control. However, the cases of Coronavirus are increasing day by day due to the irresponsible behavior of the citizens.”
“Both Bhartia & Khandelwal said that the most vulnerable section of the economy to this pandemic will be small and medium scale traders of India who do not have sufficient resources to sustain in a lockdown period. The severity of the lockdown is likely to hit this sector with brutal force. Nevertheless, in view of the burgeoning number of cases of Covid19 in India over the last one week and to add impetus to the Government’s overall effort to combat the disease and prevent community spread, the business community stands with Government in solidarity and whatever the decision, the Government takes, the trading community will abide by such decision and follow the same with its true letter and spirit.”
