“Zee Studio Romances Family Drama, Reality, Comedy in 2019″

Zee Studios has signed up writers and directors in a flurry of signings, including Abhishek Sharma, Bosco Martis, Sajid Samji and Narayan Singh, even as it released its magnum opus Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi on January 25. The creative talent was roped in for a mixed bouquet of film projects ranging from real life inspired drama, quirky romantic comedy, family entertainer and a dance film that has been planned for 2019.
The studio’s in-house film projects are stated to be in varying degrees of development currently, with casting set to begin any time now. Shariq Patel, CEO, Zee Studios said, “We had a good run with Dhadak and Parmanu in 2018 and are gearing up for our line-up for 2019. So far, we have been co-producing all our films with partners and while this will continue with select production houses and directors, we also want to challenge ourselves creatively and back projects from an early development stage.”
He added, :”The focus is on creating interesting, innovative and diverse content across genres and languages. These in-house productions, will also allow us to own 100 per cent of the IPs. We look forward to an exciting year ahead.”
The studio is also set to release ‘Kesari’ and ‘Good News’, both films produced by Dharma Productions as also Sunny Deol’s directorial venture ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’ to introduce his son, Karan Deol.”
