Film Takes That 70s Radio Show To Himalayas

Rahat Kazmi’s new film, based on the foray of the antiquated radio to rural India in the 70s, will world premiere (read selected) to feature in the UK Asian Filam Festival later this year.
The debutant Director Saki Shah says, “The film is relevant today as it is about greed and how this leads to frustration and depression.”
Kazmi and his group enjoy a niche among international audiences with earlier films like Identity Card, Mantostaan and Lihaaf. ‘2 Band Radio’ is a joint effort between Rahat Kazmi Films, Tariq Khan Production and Zeba Sajid Films to produce the satirical feature film. The film, set in the 1970’s, is written by Rahat Kazmi and Kunwar Shakti Singh.
The story-line is set in a Himalayan village where people have never before seen a radio and narrates the journey of the first radio in the village that becomes the prime reason for creating a major chaos.
Actor Pradhuman Singh, of ‘Tere Bin Laden’ fame, will be seen as the main lead along with senior actor Neelu Dogra and Sneha Jagiasi as the female lead along with UK based actor Jitendra Rai. Kazmi, Ritu Rajput, Zahid Qureshi, Tariq Khan, Hussain Khan and Pankaj Kanta will be seen in supporting roles.
The cast and crew of 2 Band Radio are gearing up for their trip to London to attend premiere of the film at the prestigious UK Asian Film Festival and have turned the event into the World Premiere of ‘2 Band Radio’. The film will be commercially released later this year.”
