After directing a romantic film ‘Ishiqiya’ and controversial film ‘Udta Punjab’ director Abhishek Chaubey has readied an action packed multi-starrer film based on the erstwhile Chambal Valley era that was dominated by dacoits in his next film ‘Sonchiriya’ that is set for a March 1, 2019 release.

The story of the film is set in the 1970s era and showcases a small town that was under the dominating control of dacoits. The film will feature multiple gangs in a power struggle and control through turf wars. Starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey, and Ashutosh Rana in leading roles, ‘Sonchiriya’ is a story set in the backdrop of the era of dacoits who ruled central India, especially the Chambal Valley region in Madhya Pradesh.
