10 January: Full Moon in Cancer
“The last year ended with many journeys and new vistas opening up in your life. The trend will continue this year too, at least for some time. You will be meeting many people from different walks of life and, possibly, from different countries and cultures too. There will be a lot of interaction, ideas and energy exchange at all levels, feelings as you reach out and make contact. There may be mood swings and several periods of depression and elation which follow you throughout the year. You are easily influenced and can swing from one state to the other easily. You have wild ideas and never fit into the ordinary, conservative scheme of things and will often be misunderstood. It is easy to see why no one understands you as your ideas, perspectives, philosophies, etc., belong to another world. You are often far ahead of your times. Since you aren’t understood and are intrinsically honest, fair, sympathetic, and mean well, this hurt rankles deep within you and results in more inordinate behaviour. You have to work this out yourself depending on your personal horoscope. There is no point in recoiling and cutting your nose to spite your face. Sometimes, there may even be the need to take professional help.”
17 January: Moon’s Last Quarter in Libra
“Since many different moods nestle in you and emerge as and when they feel like it, it is important which mood and which aspect of your diverse personality you take out of the bag. At so many levels, you do not belong to the real world and its mundane demands. You like to live free and fly like a bird. You can be a creative genius or a social worker or someone who scales the peaks of fiscal triumph. Which one are you? The success that you normally achieve is very different from the typical Scorpio or Taurean struggle and triumph bases on blood, sweat and tears. Your successes are built on whimsy, almost by the seemingly ineffective twirl of your figures. You are pushed to do things this week and there will be many domestic and other social engagements taking up your time. You can be alert, positive, creative and caring and so don’t let negativism get in the way. It will be a good idea not to get overtly critical or bad-tempered. You must remember that you have many support systems and will always be bailed out in times of need.”
24 January: New Moon in Capricorn
“You are filled with love and care for those close to you and even for the large mass of humanity. You are one of the ‘carers’ of the world and in this moon phase this aspect gets even further exacerbated. You spend time and money indulging others. Some may feel that you have no respect for your time and that people take advantage of you but that is the way you are and there is no escaping it unless you very badly want to. All this could lead to hurt and disappointment and even a feeling of exploitation and resignation. But there is no point in dwelling on negativity and there are many other aspects you can focus on like a home improvement program, renovation, refurbishing, redecorating, etc., which will be useful and also an instant distraction. All your relationships will get a new edge this week and they will flourish. You will also be happy.”
