Guards of Baywatch Lifeguards Association.
“BLA guards maintain a vigil at Juhu Beach. Its responsibilities increase during festivals. BLA has over 150 volunteers, who comprise lawyers, doctors and people from different walks of life. It is a non-profit organisation, founded in 2009 by Bunty Rao and Sayeed Shama, who realized that the main reason of frequent drowning on the Juhu Beach is the lack of a lifeguard. It all started in the year 2000, when Rao saw a small child drowning on the Juhu beach and he jumped in to rescue him.”
