‘Batla House’, an upcoming action thriller directed by Nikkhil Advani, stars John Abraham in the lead with Mrunal Thakur playing the leading lady. The movie is inspired by true events that were reported on September 2008 when an encounter broke out between the Delhi Police and suspected armed terrorists.
The Indian police suffered the death (in enemy fire) of police inspector Mohan Chand Sharma while a police constable sustained bullet injuries. The two had been sent in for preliminary verification of the occupants of the apartment housed in Batla House.
John Abraham portrays the role of inspired by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav who spearheaded the police team that Batla House encounter and was posted as assistant commissioner of police (ACP) in the Special Cell unit of the Delhi police at the time.
